About the Anglican Vicariate
The Anglican Vicariate of the Orthodox Archdiocese of America, established on August 15, 2020, is a missionary jurisdiction dedicated to preserving the Anglican Patrimony within the fullness of the Orthodox Faith. Canonically resident in the Orthodox Archdiocese of America, we are synodally administered under the omophorion of Presiding Metropolitan ++Rogelio of Manila and Luzon and pastorally led by Bishop Joseph Boyd. Our mission is to provide a fully Orthodox canonical shelter for conservative Christians who cherish the reverent liturgy, traditional values, and apostolic heritage of English Christianity.
Rooted in the vision of St. Tikhon of Moscow, St. Raphael of Brooklyn, and St. John Maximovitch, the Vicariate bridges East and West, offering a home for those seeking to uphold the 1928 Book of Common Prayer in the Divine Liturgy of St. Tikhon of Moscow, the Divine Liturgy of St. Gregory the Great, or the Western Recension of the Divine Liturgy of Saint James. We strictly uphold the doctrines and dogmas of the Seven Ecumenical Councils, the teachings of the Undivided Church, and the canonical discipline of the Apostolic Constitutions. We stand against heresy, secularism, and cultural ideologies such as radical individualism and postmodernism, preserving the life-giving tradition of English-speaking Christianity for future generations.
Our parishes across America, India, and Asia, and nascent missions in Africa, reflect the global reach of our mission, welcoming all who desire to worship in spirit and truth. Join us as we fulfill the dream of the Caroline Divines, Non-Jurors, and Oxford Fathers for a truly Orthodox and Catholic English Church, faithful to the apostolic deposit and vibrant in its witness to Christ’s Gospel.
